At Hibernation Insulation insulation removal is often the first step in a project. We like to remove the old existing insulation rather than just add on top. The old insulation can is often very dirty, matted down, been home to pests, full of dust and dirt, or even gotten wet in the past. The old insulation also hides air leakage and thermal performance issues. Our team will either hand bag the insulation, if existing insulation is in the form of batts or sheets or use the insulation vacuum for loose fill materials. 

Air sealing goes hand in hand with insulation. At Hibernation Insulation we seal up all of the wire and pipe penetrations, chase ways, recessed light fixtures, gaps around windows and doors, and any where else that connects the area we are servicing from the outside or the adjacent living space within your home or business. This process increases the air tightness of the building leading to increased energy efficiency and thermal performance.
